I was just informed that the iPhone 4 literally has a button at the bottom of the screen on the camera that engages HDR mode. And that, therefore, is one of the causes of the overuse of HDR. This came out in a discussion after someone showed me a real estate listing for which HDR was badly applied to every exterior shot of the house (interior it didn’t seem to have an effect). 

Those assholes. Do they realize what they’ve done?
