They scheduled our twice-annual DR test for today (they plan for these disasters for months), and everyone’s been ramping up for it.

And then at 8am, before the DR could be called, the Oracle DB which is part of the test actually went down. So either it’s an emergency just before we begin the fake emergency, or the helpdesk didn’t realize that we’re in DR and that the emergency alert didn’t need to go out.

Actually, listening in for a bit, it appears to be a real emergency. At the risk of laughing at the misfortune of my peers and seeing it bite me in the ass through the magic of karma, HAHAHAHAHA.
