Starting to think I need to give up on the Bears for a few seasons. Not that any such hiatus could run indefinitely… I feel the need to root for the Bears just as much as the nosferatu need blood to satiate their thirst… but it’s getting more and more difficult to roll out any sense of hope. This season will be the test.

In the meantime I think I’ll be a 49ers fan, exclusively due to Mike Singletary. Not only was he one of the best Bears players ever, but he seems to have become a model coach in the way that Walter Payton was a model player: talented, respectful/professional, and having fun with it all.
