The very first official Star Wars MMO is finally coming to a close. A long time ago (in a galaxy far, far away) there were good times to be had there. That hasn’t been the case for a very long time. I’m not sad to see it die, and if I could have smothered it in its hospital bed in about 2005, I’d have done so without hesitation. So would many of its developers, forced into making huge changes to the game to appeal to a wider audience. These changes had the unfortunate side effect of destroying what all the original players had created. Didn’t go over well.
With the next one on the way it’s not really surprising that they’ve chosen this kind of timing. I don’t intend to play the next, but we’ll see.
