Lethargy. Crankiness (moreso than is normal). Inability to concentrate. Hallucinations of Glucose Druids. Willingness to murder for baked goods. These are common symptoms of people going through the first phase of South Beach and I’ve got them all. It is, of course, quite aggravating.
But weight is coming off, at least. Six pounds off so far, and I’m only starting the second week of the first phase today. After another week of this we can move onto phase 2 in which the restrictions are slightly relaxed, and the rate of loss slows but you’re supposed to suffer it until you reach your target weight.
I would weep with glee for a sandwich right now. Or tacos. Or whiskey. Preferably the sandwich though.
